Sardarapat memorial complex
Sardarapat memorial complex is a sculptural and architectural complex. It was established in 1968 in honor of the Armenian people's victory over Turkish invaders in 1918, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied the Ararat valley village Sardarapat.
The most prominent of the entire ensemble of beautiful and high bell tower of the tomb with 35 meters height. On both sides of her face to face are massive sculptures of winged bulls. The very bell tower was built on the site of graves of fallen soldiers, and the bulls are sacred symbol of the surviving members of Sardarapat and are designed to protect the tomb. Around the complex is divided a huge landscaped park with a triumphal arch, alleys and sculptures.
