History Yerevan Museum was founded in 1931. In 2006 the museum moved to the building of City Hall.

The funds of the Museum of History of the city collected about 80 thousand exhibits that represent the various periods of Yerevan existence from the time of the city's founding to the present day.

The museum contains a unique medieval books, ancient household objects, drawings of foreign travelers who visited Yerevan, military banners, awards, weapons, jewelry, and, of course, the historical record of Urartu King Argishti I, which specifies the walled city foundation date of Erebuni ( today Yerevan).
