Northern Avenue is the most modern place of Yerevan, connecting its two main areas: the Republic Square and Freedom Square. Avenue decorated with many luxury buildings, restaurants, offices and commercial properties. There were private residences located here, which were bought by city goverments.

In 2001, began the construction with approximately 320,000 square kilometers. According to experts, the profitability of the project has exceeded all expectations: more than 200%. Opening of the first part of the avenue was held in spring 2006, and the remainder opened in late 2007.

On Northern Avenue planned the residence of diaspora representatives: the Iranian, Syrian, American and others.
